A privilege and a responsibility

Working with athletes at the highest level, trust is everything. To present them in the right way, to capture the performance or to know the boundaries during an event.

For us this past week, that trust meant more than ever.

Nino Schurter, Olympic Gold medalist, 10 times World Champion and the GOAT of XC mountain biking, announced his retirement from World Cup competition at the weekend.

We’ve been lucky to work with Nino and Scott Sports SA over the last 18 months on his hugely successful ‘N1N0 Beyond’ YouTube series. This was by far the biggest moment though, after a 20+ year career and knowing the global interest this would receive, it was hugely important for everyone involved.

A big announcement yes, but also a personal, human moment for Nino and everyone close to him. Being asked to help tell the story was an honour.

Reactions from the community as the news released on social channels.

Our small crew, led by our CD Andy, was on location to work with Nino to help plan, script and capture the announcement ready for it to be shared with the world.

Working with incredible athletes is a highlight of what we do, but we know it’s also what we do best.

Nino’s final races will be on home soil at the World Championships and Lenzerheide World Cup next month. What a special way to sign off.

Thanks to Nino and the entire Scott Sports team for trusting us with this chapter. And keep an eye out for the next N1N0 Beyond episodes - lots more to come!
