Skyscanner x Scottish Rugby
Autumn Nations Series

The Challenge

Skyscanner approached us with a brief to activate their partnership with Scottish Rugby through social-led content across the national team’s four Autumn Nations Series. Content that could cut through in real time, have a strong fan connection, and, in a crowded space of sponsor activations, feel unique to Skyscanner.

With minimal player access and tight turnaround times, the challenge was to create something built around match-day highlights, but to deliver them in a completely new way. We needed to go beyond simply showing the action, to elevate the experience and capture the emotion of match day itself.

It had to be technically ambitious, creatively original, and true to both Skyscanner’s playful, travel-geek personality and the passion of the Murrayfield crowd. All turned around within just a few hours of the final whistle.

“We turned match highlights into an interactive, zoomable moment, transporting fans into the game.”

The Insight

Fans don’t just want to see what happened, they want to feel like they were there.

The human truth behind the brief was clear: sport’s most powerful moments aren’t just about the action on the pitch, but how they ripple through the stands, through emotion, reaction, and shared experience. When you recreate that feeling, the atmosphere, the anticipation, the roar - the content stops being a replay and becomes something people relive.

The Idea

Introducing “Skyzoom”.

We’re taking Skyscanner to the roof of Scottish Gas Murrayfield to capture a completely new perspective on the game of rugby. Using a four-camera setup and a meticulously planned post-production workflow, we’re building an interactive, zoomable storytelling format that lets fans experience each Test match like never before - from the drama on the pitch to the emotion in the stands.

The zoom concept itself has been explored successfully in a few campaigns, but our challenge has been to bring it into the world of rugby, and to do so at a far faster pace. Where similar executions have taken days or weeks of post-production, we’re developing ours in near real-time around each match.

The creative approach blends cinematic zooms, broadcast and stadium audio, stitched-together perspectives, and real fan reactions to create a living, breathing replay. It’s a fusion of technical innovation and emotional storytelling - sport seen through a travel lens, transporting fans right back into the moment.

What We Did

Working hand-in-hand with Skyscanner and Scottish Rugby, we handled concept development, testing, and production across the Autumn Test series.

  • Creative direction and post-production integrating crowd audio, player reactions, and unique match moments into a cohesive, emotionally charged edit.

  • Four-camera, timecode-locked setup on the stadium roof capturing ultra-high-resolution footage of the pitch and crowd.

  • Audio and commentary feed from the live broadcaster TNT Sports, so the clip could feature broadcast commentary, stadium audio and national anthems.

On-site edit suite at Murrayfield enabling the fastest possible turnaround - one short + one longer highlight clip delivered within 24 hours.
