Introducing Fresh Cuts: The next generation of MTB content creators in Scotland

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Scottish Cycling’s Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) and Screen Scotland to launch Fresh Cuts, a new six-month paid trainee programme designed to nurture Scotland’s next wave of mountain bike and adventure sports creators.

The initiative, which will run from October 2024 to March 2025, will offer six trainees hands-on experience in creating compelling, authentic mountain biking and adventure content.

Participants will receive mentorship from industry experts, including our own team here at Cut Media. They'll also gain essential skills in production, camera operation, and storytelling—all while being paid a Real Living Wage.

Cut Media was born through creating mountain bike content in the mountains of Scotland, so we’re excited to be involved with this programme and support a new generation of creatives in mountain biking to keep Scotland delivering on the world stage. The whole industry can benefit from more individuals with the broad skillsets we require to develop world-leading content for cycling and adventure brands.

We’re really excited to work with successful applicants and share our knowledge, journey, and experience in developing original, watchable content.

— Stu Thomson, Founder, Cut Media

Fresh Cuts not only provides trainees with a unique, immersive experience but also aims to build a skilled pipeline of creatives ready to meet the growing demand for dynamic content in the mountain biking sector.

All participants will be provided with the necessary equipment and support, including laptops, cameras, and editing software, for the duration of the training. Travel, food, and accommodation costs will also be covered.

We’re stoked to see what fresh ideas and creativity the applicants bring to the table!
